Please park in the area allocated to you upon arrival at the start location. Please take care when driving or reversing in the assembly area. Remember there are other people on foot in this location.
Please keep a note of the category letter you have entered and have it available when you check in.
Collection buckets will be allocated at the assembly point. Only Wickford Town Carnival buckets are allowed for collecting.
Under the terms of the Street Collection Licence issued to Wickford Town Carnival, all monies collected by participants must be handed over to the Carnival Association at the end of the procession. This will be collected at Nevendon Road by the Community Centre.
You must have adequate insurance for this type of event and a risk assessment document. Where doubt exists as to the adequacy of insurance cover, owners and users of vehicles taking part in the procession are advised to seek confirmation of cover, including passenger liability, from insurers.
Adequate protection barriers or straps must be applied to the float front, rear, and sides to prevent persons falling from the vehicle. Any float found not to have adequate safety protection, will unfortunately not be allowed in the procession. Any Entry that disobeys any marshal's orders will be removed from the procession.
Please ensure that no person stands between the towing vehicle and the float at any time once the float has started in the procession. This is the driver’s responsibility. Supervision needs to be both on and around the float at all times.
Please ensure that you have full Public Liability insurance for your float, vehicle or group.
Please ensure the persons on the float and helpers apply sun protection if required prior to the Carnival starts and provide appropriate attire for the weather.
This is a photographed event whereby photos taken by our official photographer will used on various media such as (but not limited to), event programmes, social media, news articles, history archives and other printed media.
