ABOUT US
The carnival has always been a truly vibrant, community-driven event. From colourful floats and marching bands to dance troupes, majorettes, and visiting courts from across Essex, the parade is a fantastic display of local creativity. We encourage everyone to join the parade and hold friendly competitions for the most creative participants, including Best Dressed Float/Vehicle, Walkers, Best Dance Troupes & Majorettes, and Court of Courts.
The event's success is a testament to the dedication of our volunteers, the unwavering support of our local businesses, and the hundreds of residents who lined the streets. It was a beautiful celebration of everything that makes Wickford a great place to live.
Looking ahead, we are already planning an even bigger event next year! We’d love to see even more people involved, so please get in touch via our website or Facebook.

OUR COURT 2026/2027
Our Carnival Court is a vital part of our team's success, promoting the carnival’s fun spirit year-round. They are our ambassadors and public face of the carnival, promoting it's fun spirit and engaging with the community with pride.
On Saturday 7th March 2026, our new Court was crowned and we are incredibly excited for the year ahead. (from left to right)

PARADE
The main parade leaves Runwell Park at 12 noon via Swan Lane, through the High Street and finishing in Nevendon Park. Everyone is welcome to join the parade whether walking or on a float. Get in touch to join the next parade!
STALLS
We have a wide range of family activities along with fairground rides, games, food, drink and shopping available in Nevendon Park from 12pm on Carnival day. Click to fill in the application form for next years event.
ARENA
Hosted in Nevendon Park after the main parade, our arena is a great opportunity to showcase local talent. Performances have previously been dance troupes, singers, martial arts groups, majorettes. Get in touch if you want to be involved next year.
PROGRAMME
Each year we distribute a carnival programme to the community in the run up to the main event in September. Get in touch with our media team if you would like to advertise in the next issue.
VOLUNTEER
The carnival wouldn't be able to run without the help of our community. Whether you can commit to regular events or a few hours on the day we would love to hear from you!
